Short narrative of a music lover Vol.13 Blowin’ in the wind - Bob Dylan

My Favorite CD

It’s heartbreaking. No matter how much I think about it, I can’t think of any reason why children should have to run from bombs. The situation is only getting worse. We are all stupid. I know that. But I can’t understand how anyone can see children running away and not feel anything. I know there is no absolute right thing , and I will do many wrong things because I am bound by my values, but it is not logic or values that make my heart ache when I see children running away, it is intuition. I wonder if their hearts don’t ache a little when they tell that ‘Russia is not attacking Ukraine.’

I don’t want to write too much about this because this is the section where we talk about music. There’s not much I can do except keep saying ‘No’, so I’d like to introduce protest songs again. Especially anti-war songs. This time too, I think it is better that introducing a lot more music as possible as I can than writing something.

Blowin‘ in the wind – Bob Dylan

War – Edwin Starr

Love Train – The O’Jays

Peace Train – Cat Stevens

(What’s So Funny About) Peace, Love & Understanding – Elvis Costello & The Attractions

What The World Needs Now Is Love – Jackie DeShannon

Give Peace a Chance – John Lennon

One Love / People Get Ready – Bob Marley and the Wailers

I think people all over the world are feeling angry and sad and at a loss at their own helplessness. I believe that the artists who wrote and sang the songs presented here do not rationally believe that the songs will change anything, but they couldn’t help but express themselves intuitively. We all may be powerless, but we must not give up on continuing to express ‘No’.

Finally, here is my wish song. Anyway, I want everyone to live. That’s all.

Kaneko’s Song of the Day

I want you all to live
Lyrics: KANEKO Chalin

Run away, it is not your defeat
Oh, what’s a meaning about number of losses,
No single life must be taken
Oh, what’s a meaning about borders you’ll cross
Live
Sunrise is gonna come
A change is gonna come

For lost soul mates who with you were living an ordinary life
You run away and must survive
Living is our hope and you are shining light

I want you all to live
Sisters or brothers
Sons or daughters
Let’s sing our hearts

I want you all to live
Sinners or powers
Commanders or soldiers
Let’s sing our hearts
Let’s link us to future
Let’s link us together

Run away, it is not your defeat
Oh, what’s a meaning about old ego of past,
No future must be taken
Oh, what’s more important than our respect and trust
Live
Sunrise is gonna come
A change is gonna come

For lost soul mates who with you were living an ordinary life
You run away and must survive
Living is our hope and you are shining light

I want you all to live
Sisters or brothers
Sons or daughters
Let’s sing our hearts

I want you all to live
Sinners or powers
Commanders or soldiers
Let’s sing our hearts
Let’s link us to future
Let’s link us together
